Silawadee was the hotel that got our attention straight away. It looked beautiful and peaceful. Just perfect for a getaway without the kids.
The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere or so it feels. The pre booked hotel car took us there, and it was a short ride of 20 minutes but we had no vision of the hotel until we were standing right in the middle of it. But it was beautiful. 3 big main buildings and the rest of the resort – small luxurious pool villas. It has definitely got the wow factor.Pre arrival communication /Booking
Very easy through Hotels.com We had no communication with the hotel prior to our stayArrival – check in
Very easy and came with a nice thai drink of some sorts. Lemongrass… You know the drill ????Upgrade from pre booked room
We had booked a nice deluxe double room but after 3 days we decided to try out one of the lovely pool villas. It was a very good decision. The hotel staff
The staff was very friendly and helpful besides from the beach bar. During the day we waited a long time to get anything and sometimes there was no one there for several hours.Wi-Fi
We had plenty of Wi-Fi in the room but it didn´t work very well by the pool etc.
THE ROOM – Welcome amenity
Fresh water and fruits when we checked in to the room
As we checked in to the pool villa we had a nice bottle of rosé that I had been asking for on several occasions – So that was very attentive. The bed
Big and comfortable
Turn down service with Thai style treats … deliciousThe closet
For a 2 week holiday not big enoughBathrobe slippers
Very nice and comfortable, especially the robe – Thai style linen.Water
Lots of fresh water in the roomMagazine selection
Quite a big selection of soft drinks, wine, nuts and chocolate. Really great.
WOW factor indeed.
In our first room it was an open space bathroom, which I’m not too fond of. I need my private space., if you know what I mean. Second bathroom had a stunning layout and I could spend hours in there – and I did.
Great selection a local brand with a lovely scent of lemongrass (I love lemongrass)
The breakfast was great but the staff was very busy. It was possible to special orders of the menu . Eggs of all sorts, and also Asian breakfast dishes. The buffet was ordinary.
The Thai restaurant was great and had a wide selection of very tasteful Thai dishes. We attended the “Thai night” and had a lovely buffet with a taste of everything and big bellys.
The pool restaurant/bar was fine nothing to fancy but great prices and international dishes and snacks
I’m almost embarrassed to say that I didn´t try the spa as I usually do. But Ihad this big bathroom and had lots of massages in other spa´s in the area.
Very small and with no air-condition, so I gave up before even trying.
The hotel has 2 pool areas both with infinity pools. Only a few sunbeds which we found strange the first couple of days, When we got our pool villa we suddenly understood. Both pool areas had stunning views to Lamai beach
The beach was great, our own little private bay. But unfortunately the service at the beach bar was really bad, and it was impossible to stay for a whole day without drinks food etc. and that was a shame cause the surroundings were fantastic.
The location of the hotel is great if you want to go to a hide away. Its build in to a hill side and it´s almost impossible to walk around the area – so everywhere you go you go by this little golf car.
Unfortunately you are not allowed to drive them yourself.
The rooms are 350 including breakfast, and the pool-villas are from 530 and up. Its god value for money as its absolutely stunning there but there is a few details that has to be fixed to make it perfect… just a few
On the last day we spoke to the manager, and he told us that we should book in advance as you can get great deals if you are an early bird. Our deal with hotel.com was also great we did pay 250 euros per night.
I loved the place next time I got to Thailand I want to try to combine a Hide Away resort with something more buzzing, so I think 5 days in a place like this is appropriate.
I never say this BUT the pictures of the hotel on the website doesn´t give justice to the place at all It´s more stunning in real life.
Will I be back?
Yes I would love to.
